Once you hit the cap, you are throttled at 16 KB/s
Max speed is about 135 KB/s which is just over 1 Mbps, not sure if it is my location. I have a full signal. Is the speedtest for Airtel? Airtel is a very crap network. And considering it is now going to host the new MVNO i.e,Equity, Tangaza and the other one, you can expect muuuuuuuuuuch less quality service from them. Go Zuku. I'm on the R20. Upgraded. I hear they're also testing 50mbps speeds. Don't know how true that is but let's wait and see. You are right. Of late, it has been gradually getting slower during the day. It's only at night when it is fast. Late at night, e.g. at 2AM, I can get speeds of up to 4 Megabits of international bandwidth, but day time like now, I'm getting 30 KB/s. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

The speeds are good though after you go beyond 20gb they reduce to 256kbps as per their Fair Use Policy. I use the black modem. I have just done a speedtest.... Speed Good. I'm joining Orange, Airtel just too slow during the day. You posted that speed test at 7:29:18 AM Can you pls post the speed at peak hrs like at about this time? Will appreciate. Here's a good Test of Zuku R10. International speed tests were performed throughout the day, and it's only the local loop that has speed. http://blog.ylitalot.com...zuku-premium-r10-to.htmlThey tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

Would have liked to join Zuku, if the 10Mbps fiber held up to the promise. Not sure of the international bandwidth speed. Even if it could have been able to push through speeds of 5 Megabits of international bandwidth at peak hrs, that would be great. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

Zuku are a deceptive lot. The big news is they cut fibre prices 'to compete with DSTV'. At least that's what we're being told. The truth is it's become more expensive. Look at it this way; I normally pay 4,299 for the 10Mbps net plus premium (100+) tv channels. After the price drop, net costs 4,099 plus BASIC TV WITH 60 channels. They've basically cut off the better documentary channels, nearly all music channels and cartoons for the kids. To get what I previously paid for, I now have to pay another 500 bob on top. TL;DR - To get what I had previously, I now have to pay 4,600 each month. Smart bastards.

I believe that is a case of discrimination that can be ably prosecuted by a first year Parklands law student (not Moi University law graduate)

10Mbps equals about 1.25MB of data per second. 10Mbps = 1250Kb/s. "Occasionally I drop a tea cup to shatter on the floor. On purpose. I am not satisfied when it does not gather itself up again. Someday perhaps that cup will come together."

Net speeds are advertised in megabits (Mb - note the small 'b'.) 8 bits make a 'Byte' (Capital B). Hence 10Mbps = 1.25MBps. Your torrent client likely displays MBs hence the confusion. Hope that helps.

The R10 product is getting replaced with this new thing they're calling 'Infinite 10'. This new product offers less value, under the pretext of a price-drop, hence my complaints. To get all the channels you had previously, you'll have to top up some cash. There's nothing illegal there but I view that in bad taste. I think the new pricing takes effect end of this month as my subscription hasn't been affected yet. And no, I highly doubt they're charging regions differently.
