It is a noble idea. My only worry is the existing matatu investors. How are they going to phase them. Will it be gradually or how? Perhaps they should have invited the matatu investors to own shares in the new entity that would own the buses.

Do they want to chase away private investors or to operate in parallel?

I would prefer the private investors to be chased away...if only to restore sanity in this industry and demand accountability...Public transport managed by the government is usually efficient, and on a different note, mini buses would be better than 14-seater matatu to reduce on traffic...

I don't think its the 14-seater matatus that cause traffic. Mayhem, yes, traffic, no.

Will work well ONLY IF they don't recruit drivers from the matatu sector.

This is a good idea that is a long time coming. Every civilized city has a public bus service. It is especially needed to serve areas that matatus do not want to go. Plus matatus have been mistreating the public for too long.

What does this bill mean? ( It will help me lots if its translated into my mothertongue. Will they maintain for me and charge me? What if I can maintain it like I have done over the years?

On the contrary, they should fine business and premises that have filth outside their walls.
Lord, thank you!
