For those who have been in Rwanda a visit to the mass grave museums is a truly harrowing experience.

It shows how much depravity man has in his heart.
Hate and fear rules our emotions without our knowledge and those who do know (power seekers) use it to their advantage.

but the question is why?
Land scarcity?
racial profiling
population density?

Being in Rwanda feels eerily like living in a George Orwell's novel.where reality is denied - speak no evil,
hear no evil
think no evil,
see no evil
yet the truth haunts us in our sleep,
that we are evil,
that we are not sorry for what we did it and we will continue doing it now and in the future for
me ,
my family,
my tribe,
my nation.

Aren't the Batutsi Cushitic, probably from Ethiopia? Historians like Mahmood Mamdani seem to think so

You will nnote that some of them look very much like Ethiopians!

Of course there was intermarriage. Made the lines blurred.

But me thinks the one tribe thing is an RPF lie

What is a tribe? People who speak one language. The Hutus and Tutsis speak one language. Are these two countries a case where the haves and have-nots were classed into 2 different 'tribes'?

the two tribes were a creation of the colonial masters. They favoured the ones with caucasian features or longer noses calling them Tutsi.

i hate the word tribe since it does not fi the shoe (it's only kenyans that use it to mean ethnicity) tribe is a bunch of people in a village or community somewhere.

there are two aspects that make human behaviour what it is Genetics and Culture!! have been studies that have been done and have shown that there is a genetic difference between the two groups - this not withstanding the fact that they are now indistinguishable physically. it is a well documented fact that things like height are also aspects of diet as opposed to solely genetics (how many people here are taller than their folks?).
However, culture however plays a bigger role as seen by the maasai... as genetically the maasai contain genes from all over the place from ethiopians to kikuyus and kaleos but due to a strong culture they identify themselves as a different people. Culture is the single most determining factor of human behaviour as it defines a person and gives expectations to that person.

i am told we are the same
we speak one language
share the same religion
but why do i look different
why he is he tall yet i am short
why is he light yet i am dark
why is he slim yet i am stout
what happened?

how did he become more handsome than i?
why are his women more beautiful than mine?
why are his children more well fed than mine?
why does he hold the best pieces yet i lack?
why does he hold the power yet i do not?
what happened?
is democracy not the rule of the majority?

it was my country before he came
it was my land before they came
my women were fine before they came
i used to be the lord over mine before they came
now they lord over us
i will wait
my time will come
i will rise
cause i covet
i desire
i want
i will have
because we are not the same
and the land is mine
and i am Human.
