There is a Swahili legend of an ancient bantu king who was kidnapped by Arab slaves, simply because he escorted them back to their ship, where they set sail immediately he entered from "Kambulu" the first Muslim 'African' city, this king fetched a premium in the slave market and escaped from slavery where he walked back and established Islam at the coast.
