Instability defined .. This has clearly been thought out really well. It almost feels staged for international media. The picture is that the military is not acting alone but in coordination with various authorities, including religious groups, and even various generational groups. As sugar coated as this step might look, this does not change from the essence that this was not done by legal means. A president that was elected democratically, no matter what one thinks of him, has been removed by armed forces, and this is called a coup d'etat. If the Muslim Brotherhood resorts to violence like they did in 1970s, if they are pushed out of the political arena, they will be delegitimised once again and will have to go underground, which will be a terribly instability for Egypt. They keep moving the cheese stolen from opensuse forums :)

.
I hate democracy. Read my long standing signature.
Thimioni. The second half of your signature talks about liberty...you think it is apropos for Egypt? - Namely: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting over what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the result."Well, the well armed Egyptian lamb just spoke. Now what? "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth." (Niels Bohr)

Morsi was not meant to last long. His hatred of Jews and forcing islam to the 20% coptic xtians is his undoing. Egypt is too important in the middle-east for Israel to allow a 'stupid' leader. Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

Lolest! wrote:True democracy is where a govt looks up for its people? What does that mean? Is it our needs etc? Isn't that subjective? Egypt voted the brotherhood and now through unconstitutional means a section of them want the govt out. What is the purpose of democracy if there wont be order and a clear way of unseating incumbents? Egypt and Uganda are bad examples of army interference in politics. @Lolest, I don't think you really get it, Egyptians errupted because of the steps that the elected leader took after been elected. Mursi forgot how he got in and decided to ignore the aspiration of Egyptians who went to streets to remove Mubarak. We also know that our kind of democary has no clear way of unseating incumbents, infact in our kind of democracy incumbents just serve their full maximum term, and their preferred man can pick up from where they left, elections are just a way to fool the people. By the way did you heard the Mugabe is democratically elected? So until there is a clear way of unseating incumbents, People will just have to do what Egyptians did. Until people like you understand why Egyptians are celebrating, Kenya and Africa cannot change.

Let us look at the facts. In 200 years, how many American Presidents have been 'unseated'? - by any means? 5, ( Tano! ...Rora ciara na ndũgatare ngunyũ) And 4 of them had to be shot. By the way, what is the obsession with USA? Until you live in these western countries you'll never understand where I am coming from!

@Rollout, Egyptians are celebrating? Are you sure? Then why do we have rival rallies? I would say Egypt is split in the middle along pro/anti Morsi lines. I have serious misgivings about the brotherhood because of the way they mistreat my fellow Christians but that doesn't justify chaos and armed forces involvement in political process. If you make rules, live by them. And don't mistake it, the Mugabes of these world have popular support in their countries. It may sound stupid for one to back the geezer but that's democracy for you..

The proponenets of regime change and army involvement in regime change, how is Madagascar doing? The last I checked DJ Rajoelina had become a high handed ffellow. This is the guy who caame to power at the back of a revolution ousting elected Ratsiraka. The same graft and human rights issues of back then are still there today if not worse.

simonkabz wrote:This is the reason I have a very low opinion of niggers who keep singing democracy every minute. Its a useless paradigm. For instance, in Kenya, the loudest advocates of democracy lost in the March 4th elections convincingly fair and square. They refused to ACCEPT the PEOPLE'S choice (the choice of the majority which is essentially the foundation of democracy). Now look at the Egyptians. Next time unasikia mtu anaimbaimba democracy TEMEA YEYE KIKOHOZI kwa mdomo. Actually Egypt and Libya were ten times better off under their previous dictators..today I understand that Libya is like the wild wild west with armed gangs(read rebels) roaming around killing all..this insatiable greed for oil/natural resources will be the world's undoing.. It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.
