Change is coming at Nation Newspapers. Mark my words! The changes will affect both editors and journalists/columnists. Direct orders from the Aga Khan himself. Irritant the first out the door! Expect to be reading Mutahi Ngunyi's articles in the Nation soon - if he accepts the offer that is.

Miss Mutahi Ngunyi. His writing is humorous, full of wisdom and insight.

The sooner Sunday Nation kicks out the irritant professor of Buffalo, the better.

But as soon as they kick him out, they will be accused of being intolerant to divergent views. They will loose sales from certain regions where Mutua is a "hero", and such other stories...

But to go he will. Give it time. You'll see a thread - Makau Mutua kicked out or something like that!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Eric Ng'eno on Makau mutua.

Quote:
Imagine therefore, the sleepless night Prof Mutua’s portentous tweet occasioned in Uhuru Kenyatta’s stately address at State House Road! Imagine the hysterical rending of garments and gnashing of teeth.

Try to picture a whole coterie of the Kenyatta family and friends staring bleakly out of cried-out eye sockets, contemplating the decidedly dismal prospect of a presidency bereft of Prof Mutua’s endorsement!

In fact, the damage is more dramatic and immense. See the strongholds mourn- swathes of Rift Valley and Central, North Eastern Kenya, and pockets of supporters throughout the country, including the die-hards of Nyanza, feeling cheated out of a victory by Prof Mutua’s improvident withholding of a recognition so critical to legitimacy of the incoming administration.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Quote:
I wrote a few weeks ago about the arrogance of the ‘reform community’ and how they think Kenyans are all idiots who must be husbanded much in the manner of livestock. Prof Mutua has just borne that out.

Quote:
How can he, in good conscience, decide that the democratic choice of millions of Kenyans is contemptible and unconscionable? Why does he think that those who voted for Jubilee are somehow inferior, deficient or illegitimate?

Quote:
The line separating radical visionaries from mendacious irritants is very thin one

For those who have not read it

Uhuru does not need Prof Mutua’s endorsement

OMG!

Quote:
Mr Odinga purports to be a nationalist even though facts — those stubborn things — tell a different story. All his close confidantes and supporters have been his kinsmen. He turned the National Development Party — the party that he bought after losing out to Mr Michael Kijana Wamalwa in Ford Kenya — into a tribal party.

Quote:
In fact, it is not clear that Mr Odinga would be anything without the tribalisation of our politics. He is the quintessential tribal baron. The ethnic baton that he so effectively wields is not an accidental gift. It is an inheritance from his father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. If Jaramogi rose to be the king of his community, Raila Odinga was its prince. Once the old man passed, the hopes of the community were reposited in Mr Odinga.

Quote:
So, is Mr Odinga unelectable because he is a Luo? The answer is yes and no.
