Dear Members,

Thank you for your restraint over the last one week. Sadly, we suspended at least 10 members who couldn't hold themselves.

We realise TNA adherents have stubborn positions, just as CORD supporters are die-hards for their cause. None can convince the other! Any independents in the community are drowned out by the chants from either side.

Our dilemma relating to the resumption of politics is whether it's now possible for independent respectful discussions to take place. We would love to believe Wazua can be an example, and rise above the tribal sewers in social media.

As a start, is it feasible for us to only list/link to political news items from tomorrow?
- without inserting our anti-Uhuru/anti-Raila sentiments
- without purporting to adjudicate supreme court cases
- without restating a position more than once
- and at all times respecting our opponents

@ Lady Admin,

Let people vent their views on this site. It is both therapeutic at this time and a fundamental right which we will all ensure we use responsibly. Views held but not expressed can be very latent and will find an avenue to explode. Wazua is so crucial to some of us we use it everyday as a source of information and then we use personal judgement on what is best. Fungua tafadhali.

Once you resume politics, 4 things will happen:

1. TNA will claim RAO is nuts;
2. CORD will claim TNA are thieves;
3. Both sides will discuss the petition to death, everyone pretending to be a lawyer;
4. The above 3 steps will be repeated ad naseum.

Here we go again...

@admin, ...blanket censorship is a weary business. You mostly derelict your moderation duties, only responding when issues become red hot having gone miles over the line - so your solution is to shut down everything wholesale. ....its cutting off the head to cure dandruff Laughing out loudly
But hey, its your site, you can stomp on it all you want. I realized two things during the imposed political fast ..
#1 - The time I spent browsing and interacting reduced from hours per day to less than 10 minutes. There is always good information and knowledge, but there is no entertainment.
#2 - Content began to get stale.

That being said, you have proven that the community can live without politics. I welcome things that help me kick addictions - browsing here obsessively is one of them so by all means, let the Political section die permanently.

Politics have changed.

The two horses are throwing their last kicks. The only way out for all of us is to surrender.

I said, politics is a religion. Banning politics is like telling the 1.2 billion Catholics not to speak about the pope or the 10 cardinals vying to be pope.

Lift the ban.
Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.
