Bwana Githundi, I will say it again. The only purpose for this thread is tribal arithmetic. Within a very few posts we start hearing things like by Kikuyu are more etc etc.

I see nothing good coming off it especially since if you are depending on Google to do your research.

I doubt if many of us need to know your confused arithmetic either. If I want to know or even need to know how many tribes there are in Kenya, I'll go to the museum. The records are rather accurate there.

Being proud of your heritage does not mean you start doing a head count of the number of tribes, clans, families etc. Being proud of your heritage is talking about the good stuff and bad stuff of your communities.

But any thread that starts counting how many of a certain "tribe" there are, is in bad taste and some of us are old enough to know it.

So exactly what point is this thread supposed to be expounding? So there are 41, no 42, no 43, no 53, no 100, who the f*** cares?

if you have nothing to say it is very simple, keep off the thread or start one with what you want to say.

I agree with @gathundi. I see no problem in wanting to know the tribes of Kenya. It is even taught in school for heaven sake!Shame on you

For the records, nobody in this thread has sought to know how many of a certain 'tribe' there are, nor is it wrong to seek to know that.
Am neither the author nor do i purport to list the so called 42 tribes.
I agree with you we need to have the correct list and that is one of the answers we are seeking in this thread.
And lastly if you don't seek to know what we are asking, be a gentleman and keep off the thread, that is the least you can do.

Good info. I wonder why minority tribes are irked? If one feels marginalized, 'steal' a bride from another tribe and increase your own.

That's what the Taitas have been doing. All the Taitas I know are married to Kikuyus, Kambas, Embus and Merus. I suspect that in a few generations to come, the will be no "pure breed" Taitas
