In a TV interview earlier in the week, Mr Ruto said those who had persuaded Mr Kenyatta to step down did not do what they had promised to do. It is not clear exactly who was involved in the negotiations or what promises had been made.
Now it is clear.... the Madvd financiers connected to a top politician baulked and failed to refund UK his money and refused to fund the Madvd's campaign.

B.Timer wrote:Is Mudavadi settling for "Samsons option" in his dealing with Uhuru and Ruto!
Listening to Mudavadi last evening on Citizen TV, he came out as saying that it is a serious matter for which there can be no winners but only losers!
His explanation in broader term seemed to be -
Uhuru and Ruto initiated the affair by driving to his home and offered him a coalition deal with a plausible explanation as to why they had found it necessary to take that move.
This culminated in signing of agreements drafted and witnessed by Lawyers as well as the three politicians themselves.
The two agreements were interlinked and made reference to each other, or one refered to the other.
That, by Uhuru reneging on his undertaking that he signed before a lawyer is a SERIOUS MATTER!
He further explained that the talked about delegates conference is untenable as the three of them are not even delegates of UDF/TNA/URP since they are currently still MPs sponsored by different parties.
In any case, going for nominations by delegates would in itself be overturning the already signed document as the matter was discussed and settled on.
Again all the three parties are fairly young and have not had time to arrange grassroots elections to get delegates.
Essentially therefore, what Uhuru and by extention Ruto are saying is insincere and unsustainable.
What I read in all these, given the line Mudavadi seemed to take in the interview yesterday, he intends to pay Uhuru and Ruto in their own coin.
It could get messy (pun not intended) for both sides politicaly.
Looking at today's press, it increasingly appears that Mudavadi's latest mantra is - I wont go down alone. You do me I do you! On a melodious note, - while this might provide some good entertainment this Christmas time, it so well captures the situation between Mudavadi on the one hand, and Uhuru/Ruto on the other. Mudavadi continues to dig in. As per Citizen TV Mudavadi demands that TNA/URP apologise publicly to UDF as well as droping the use of the name JUBILEE! Uhuruto getting a dose of their own medicine! http://www.nation.co.ke/...4/-/q9gq1oz/-/index.htmlDunia ni msongamano..

Frogs in the river if you ask me, won't stop the cow from drinking ...I thought that agreement had more potent stuff in it, like invalidating any bid of all 3 if things aren't on the up and up

Prospects of an Uhuruto presidency will scare investors and all Kenyans will suffer but ironically the main voting blocs of Uhuruto will suffer most when the economy takes a hit after a Jubilee win.

You know its never about tribes or 'our people'.. its a goodlife.. money for self.. your kids and grandkids.. ultimately when you have achieved wealth, its human ego.. and after that.. when all is said and done and you acquired you status and fortunes wrongly... self preservation kicks in
how tied up to the west do you think the rich families in Kenya are? And do you think their wealth is anything to western standards..?
In short.. lets just blame our political slapstick drama to cuddling the East

@mawinder, no link. But if the President and his Deputy opt to skip trial what will happen? Arent sanctions a possibility? Now look at who would suffer as a result. The tea farmers, the coffee farmers, businessmen. There is reason to worry.
