There's this verse in the book of Sirach that says that trying to win an argument by force is like a castrated man trying to rape a woman.
And I remembered accounts of rape by the terrorists. When I expressed my dismay to some of my friends, they mostly explained that such is to be expected in war. And indeed, wars go together with rape, and sexual abuse.
Anger, ultimately must be expressed sexually. But anger is castration also. I remember sometime back hearing of a man who cut his penis after seeing his wife entering into some lodging.
Anger is suicidal. All war is suicidal in essence.
There are very important conversations that are not going on in the world, and so far the tendency has been to bury our heads in the sand. What's happening in Palestine? What's happening to the millions who are at risk of the ravages of poverty, ignorance and disease? How are these questions and others contributors to the problems we are facing today?
How are humans evolving? What are our greatest challenges now?
I believe such questions and others would lead us to better and all inclusive solutions that would herald a reign of peace all over the world.
