Enterprise corruption and its numerous fraud variants plus book cooking always tend to rear their ugly heads during bear markets. Why is this a global phenomena smile
Pretending to fail or confessing during such times is always cheap! Now continue following the money... smile

TWO former directors of Cooper Motors have "illegal offshore accounts" containing hundreds of millions of shillings in Jersey, according to new Group CEO Bill Lay.

"Details of these accounts were kept secret from other directors. One of the accounts has a balance of over Sh240 million. Management is also investigating two additional offshore accounts with substantial transaction activity. Management continues to work on ways to repatriate these funds for the benefit of CMC shareholders," Lay told a press conference yesterday.

This is one thing I never understand. No matter how educated a looter is, they always stash the cash offshore. For the country's sake, if you have to loot, please keep the cash in our economy!!! At least when you die, the loot will remain here and not get 'frozen' while those countries you hide it steal it from us (tax payers) (I do condemn looting btw)
i.am.back!!!!

Quote "The broadcaster, Abeer Madi al-Halabi, said that President Ben-Ali's demise in Tunisia would serve as "a lesson for countries where presidents and kings have rusted on their thrones."

Paul Ndungu's CMC manouevre serves similar notice on management at those companies listed at the NSE who have 'rusted on their thrones." end quote...

Dirty old man wins his way back
Quote:
THE high court has quashed a report and resolutions made by the Capital Markets Authority that led to the exclusion of former head of civil service Jeremiah Kiereini from holding directorships in companies listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

High court judge David Majanja declared that Kiereni’s rights were violated by the regulator when it took enforcement action against him.

“I find that the CMA breached the petitioner’s right to fair administrative action by failing to accord him a fair opportunity to respond to the findings made by the committee before taking enforcement action and before the same were made public,” read part of the judgment.

The ghost is not going away

Businessman Jeremiah Kiereini was Thursday preparing for the opening of a new battlefront in defence of his multi-billion-shilling empire after the capital markets watchdog obtained orders stopping him from trading shares he owns in public-listed firms.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) on Wednesday got the court order as part of its effort to recover Sh195.7 million that Mr Kiereini allegedly received fraudulently during his long tenure as a chairman of motor dealer CMC.
