Kenyans!!!! kenyans!!!.... Skrians!!!
Its a pity the way we see things compounded by the short memories we suffer all the time.
Kibaki has his own faults,a myriad of them. But on this one I dont quite see how he has mistreated Karua. On the contrary it is Karua who has never forgiven Kibaki for bypassing her on the DPM post that he gave to Uhuru.
From then on Karua has never missed any opportunity to embarass and critique the president in total disregard to the edict of collective responsibility.
All of a sudden, she sees faults in the police force,Chief Justice,AG,Judiciary, then goes on overdrive on - Narc Kenya shortchanged in appointments, declines belated appointment to coalition committe.
It is only in Kenya where a cabinet minister can display such defiance and headstrong behaviour towards the president and continue serving in his/her Govt.
Karua has projected herself as a reformer!!!!
That is mere posturing for 2012.
I wonder where the reformer in Karua was during Kibakis first term when it was Aglo leasing,Artur brothers galore. She defended both scandals and many others.
She most spiritedly pushed for the banana constitution that sought to give the president even 'more powers'.
Kibaki is serving his mandate. In so doing he has hired Karua to assist him push his policies. Instead Karua decides to compete with him and serve her own interest - to appear the reformer as she paints Kibaki the bad guy.
It just doesnt work like that.
Karua,or any other minister who may have the best of ideas and policies will have to wait, get elected to the presidency to implement his/her policies. In the mean time as you serve in Kibakis govt, you gotta push Kibakis policies,or quit without all these cat fights.
In 2008,Kibaki wasn't a stranger to Karua.
Respect the boss or dont accept the job in the first place. You dont accept to be hired by a character you know too well, then starting drilling holes in the boat.
