Are the shareholders being psychologically prepped for a rescue rights issue?

At the current mkt situation a rights issue will be a big flop.
Kanguangodo said it will take 5 years to stabilize kenya power.
Watu wangoje hadi 2023

Bailout is on the cards..

Bailout by who and in what form.
Will GOK increase its Shareholding?

What will stop it? Also know or KPLC preference shares?
The energy stock has two preferred issues: KPLC-P4 and KPLC-P7

Sad Sad

The preferred shareholders wanakula nyama mkimeza mate.. As I keep saying here, NSE investment is all about insider knowledge. Otherwise, you stand a better chance selling smokies

Preferred ni ya Serikali

Wananchi wanalisha serikali.. Hapo ndio shida

Bought by those who understand risk.
Investment is not about how much gain you make, its about how much risk you take!

Latest KNBS statistics for Generation and Consumption of Electricity October 2018:

Generation: 969.05 Gwh
Total KP Sales: 737.71 Gwh
i.e 23.87% Power losses. There has been a lot of investment in improving the power distribution by building substations to minimize these losses but they are increasing. What gives? OR is there a mismatch in generation Vs consumption?

LTWP wind is at 75.47 Gwh and all the turbines were not running by end of October 2018. This is really a game changer in Kenya's power market.

For the LTWP, i believe KPLC has a billing power meter at Turkana (buy @KES 8/kwh) but the power is transmitted to load center in Nairobi (to sell @KES 10/Kwh) some ~600Km so the transmission power losses must be huge. Is KPLC's PPAs already doomed it to making losses?

No more grandiose projects which were avenues for eating.Plus Kenya power needs to reduce it's debt burden which is hurting it's cashflows
