@Simon, some of what Kenneth did in Gatanga isn't development. And if Mutua is playing the same way then he's not promoting development.

Building schools, hospitals, roads, market centers, these are good things. Even vital. But they don't comprise of development.

Development is more of a path of an organism's increase in capacities, activities, energy supply and consumption, capital flow.

Roads, and schools are like organs. What links the organs to the organism entails development.

People are also like organs to the state's organism. If one can't link the organs well enough to create a living organism then he/she can't win over an existing organism. The Kenyan organism has been made of ethnic groups that have related predictability since independence, even before, how can it be replaced by a non-living object?

Well at the stage our country is, this is development. They improve basic people's livee. PK did it in Gatanga. If Mutua continues with the same pace, then any of those 2 leaders/or both have my vote come 2017.

Question: What are the stages that a country goes through, and where exactly is Kenya?

@Tycho, is there anywhere in the world where development has been implemented? We can go and see. Sometimes seeing is easier than trying to understand a written theory you know...

Am surprised you're still asking for places you can visit. Development is about systems. So you're asking whether there are any examples of developed systems?

You can look at international finance systems. You can consider computer and artificial intelligence systems, you can look at even games and sports developing as systems.

You can even study the political systems of the world powers through time.

In the new dispensation development conscience people just need a good combination of Gov and Sen. If we had a media worth its salt, this thread wouldn't have gotten to this point because the focus would be on the counties.

It was a 33km road done in 3 months by 11 contractors. Thus each contractor was doing just 3km in 3 months, or 1 km in 1 month. Can a contractor do 1km in 1 month? The 45km Thika road was contracted to 3 shainese contractors who were doing 1km per month.......just like in the mayakos case. So at 1km per month, Mutua's road is up to international standards.

What would need to be elaborated? If every county had a Gov who was development oriented the kind of money being disbersed to the counties would do wonders. The senators would ensure that the laws made are favorable. The tragedy of our reality is that Senators dont know what they are supposed to do and some Gov lack creativity and the mojo that goes with it.

Our media...well there's a thread about it if not threads.
