I've been monitoring KQ post FY the heavy loss results which have simply been ignored by Mr Market! The price has stubbornly refused to tank to adjust to reality Think

Again I ask is KQ changing behaviour after years of bear pressure referencing the huge rights dilution back in 2012? Selling exhaustion signs...

As of 1pm, according to myStocks, KQ has traded 2,700 shares worth KES 9,830 Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Not 9,800 shares but KES 9,830/-! So yes, KQ is up 7.5% on vapor volumes!

TPSEA, much smaller in revenue than KQ has traded KES 199,000 worth.

"The airline recognised a Sh1.4 billion loss in the year ended March 2016, with the balance of Sh2.5 billion expected to filter through over the coming years as the contracts roll on in the medium term."

"KQ chief executive Mbuvi Ngunze said at the time of signing the lease contracts that they would reduce fleet costs by Sh8.4 billion annually, indicating that sub-leasing at a loss (which was not disclosed at the time) represents a lesser evil compared to maintaining a bloated fleet."

"KQ did not indicate whether the upcoming sub-leasing deals with the same carriers will also leave it underwater or whether it will break even or book a profit."

"This saw its net worth worsen to negative Sh35.6 billion from negative Sh5.9 billion over the same period."

Ngunze with his team of incompetent managers should be shown the door. These aircrafts should not have left the fleet in the first place. I hope the Oman Air runway collision with a stationary aircraft in Tehran did not involve a KQ B787. The upcoming AGM should be used to nail these individuals. KQ should have a dedicated aircraft leasing department staffed with people who are subject matter experts. Leasing and sub-leasing of planes should not be left to directors and the procurement department.

@maka - Are there any other upcoming sub-leasing deals? Which routes are being terminated as the article alleges?

@obiero please do explaining. We need more knowledge on this issue. When a company is suspended from trading, does it come like a thief or is it a warning notice given by CMA for investors to exit if they wish to do so? What exactly happens?

It comes like a thief unless you have Intel.. The matter was discussed at some point but shelved courtesy of one Dr who reps GOK.. It could have reoccured depending on H1 since the accusations will be that the share continues to suck in traders to loss positions with 4 straight years of negative earnings, but luckily KQ now has an Operating Profit..
