and who knows when his reapplication for dual citizenship will be approved?

So he was not a Kenyan citizen when he contested Governorship in the last general elections in Kenya 8/8?

Don't remind them... the next time you will hear -
Quote:
Knowing very well he is not a Kenyan citizen, he fraudulently acquired a kenyan ID and run for office

by the way - this drama reminds me of the stories of Leonard Mucheru the Kenyan born athlete who changed his citizenship to Bahrain and dared to go run in Israel. Things were not simple-O.

We are living in strange times.

You make a hero out of a no one. The gov't can't revoke it's citizenship. That's a fact. It's also a fact that there are 4 years 5 months to the next election.

This guy was also exiled by Moi and he came back. As FRM2011 has said, the next governor of Nairobi is Miguna.

Sad.

Where is Kibaki?

So to be elected Governor in Nairobi all one needs is to be deconstruct everyone, administer a nonsensical oath then get arrested and deported to some country you acquired citizenship.

@Alma,you are brighter than that.

Actually it's easier than that. Make a mountain out of a mole hill.

The gov't can't revoke anyone's citizenship. That's like Raila saying Uhuru is not president of Kenya.

That being the case, you just make a hero. Just like the whiteman made a hero out of Jomo for no particular reason.

Politicians make their names through notereity. That's why we have Moses Kuria, Joho, even Pauline Njoroge.

The easier methodology to deal with nasa would have been to keep quiet like general kiguoya. I can see why that man was wiser than 10 men.

Like they say, time is a very interesting thing.

As individuals, I think there are small things we take for granted. Small legal procedures. Or misdemeanours we engage in.

The law(executive) turns a blind eye until you're on the opposing side politically. They then come down hard on you.

Following, but I'm seeing Miguna coming back, bigger. Is it a JP strategy to minimise baba's influence?

He was a distant 4th bwana... he lost to Sonko by over 800k votes- how is that an 'almost'?

My understanding of the matter
1) Gava has not 'revoked' his citizenship - he revoked it himself during the last constitutional dispensation
2) Citizens of Kenya during this current constitutional dispensation cannot lose citizenship
3) one who had lost/revoked kenyan citizenship during the old constitutional dispensation and was born in Kenya was meant to show his/her interest in the Kenyan citizenship they advertently or inadvertently lost by applying for the kenyan citizenship
4) The fact that he (fraudulently) presented himself as a Kenyan during the last election - does not add value to his case - it adds an additional charge of Fraud/impersonation.

but surely.... this is a pyrrhic victory. Why is GOK expending it's energy on such nobodies? like really?

@alma, I thought we agreed its almost blasphemy to compare Jubilee with Kibaki. As our people say, "Nî ta kûgerekania gîkuo na toro". Its like comparing sleep with death.
