Uhuruto only promised "world class infrastructure", not bullet trains. Also bullet trains are appropriate for relatively short distances <100km distances, not 500km like from mbs to nrb. At least they delivered on the train colours.smile

@hardwood, you lost me there, cant read between the lines...was it sarcasm?

Uhuru has no touch with anything political leadership, how he wish August polls would come soon so that he can relinquish the post to @NASA.

Zimefika nairobi? They are supposed to take only 4 hrs between mbs and nrb.

They were last seen at Tsavo bridge struggling uphill.

The infrastructure associated with this SGR is amazing, that nairobi station looks better than even JKIA, na hiyo ya mombasani, wacha tu.
you have to give it to the Chinese, they can do a nice job.

That is why our SGR is more expensive coz apart from the reli, it included all the other infrastructure such as train stations, locomotives, coaches, wagons etc - and even land acquisition from mbs to nairobi.

The initial test run at just above 120kph, if the signaling system works as intended it means we will see nairobi to mombasa in under 4 hrs.
We wait and see

How did the locomotive go over 120, when it redlines at 100? I have seen the locomotive myself and confirm this.

You might have seen the DF8B for freight which has a max of 100, the passenger train is DF11.

@Kularaha - this link may be of help to you. As you can see the maximum operating speed for this train is 170km/hr
