The most weird and ironical issue with this saba saba thing is that originally saba saba was about a new constitution yet this is being held because they don't want to go through the same constitution that was so hard fought for and its being championed by some of the people who fought so hard for us to get the new constitution.
Only now we are realizing this agitation for new constitution meant different things to different people...for some, it was for genuine change but for others, it was a means to get to power. Well, for this latter group, the end did not justify the means, so the result isn't justified either!! Back to square one!!!

C&P

Anxiety has gripped Naivasha town ahead of the planned Sabasaba
rally by CORD with tens of families fleeing the town.
The families have in the last one week left the town expressing fears
that violence could erupt after the rally which will be held on
Monday next week.
Majority of those fleeing are flower farm workers from Western
Kenya saying that they will return after the CORD rally.

This is not 7/7. this was November 1991 just before the donor froze aid, Orengo and Co were trying to mobilize people along Jogoo road and were shortly arrested on Jogoo road. Enyewe Wazuans mlikuja nairobi juziLaughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly .

All those guys in the pick-up were nowhere during saba saba. Kiraitu had fled to US, Muite was holed up in the US embassy and later went on with his wife to plead with Moi not to be detained, Raila was in detention. Matiba and Rubia were picked on 4th July 1990 for detention. There were no leaders except grassroot mobilizers. In fact saba saba occurred in Nairobi and Central Kenya and it was mostly Murang'a guys who took the front line. Origino 7/7 was about Four days of rioting. There were no riots in Kibera or Kisumu. Talk about distorting history
