ODPP has asked DCI to arrest KPLC management, employees, contractors and suppliers. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Though it may need to write down assets e.g. crappy transformers, over-priced poles, pay for lawsuits, reduce customer billing, etc that will hurt the EPS and NAV. Greedy when others are fearful. Have you seen the statement from the Board? Absolute no introspection even when the top brass has arrested for corruption and abuse of office. They didn't even promise that they will cooperate with ODPP to clean up house and improve the corporate governance. They said operations will continue uninterrupted. The board has trivialized the whole thing, they can't see any wrongdoing. That is not a clean up exercise it's a cartel game of musical chairs. Steal until the music stops. KPLC has a serious corporate culture of corruption and 'don't care' attitude. The future thieves will be promoted and plan better on how to steal.

Kenya Power Board appoints Eng. Jared Otieno as the Acting MD following the suspension of Ken Tarus. Otieno has worked at KPLC for more than 30 years and was the immediate former Manager in charge of Streetlighting Project. “Invest in yourself. Your career is the engine of your wealth.”

Another well-run GoK firm. I am not in KPLC but like KQ it will get subsidies that will hurt other investments by way of higher taxes. Some firms e.g. ARM, TPSEA, FTGH, etc that have (expensive) electricity as a major input will continue feeling the pain. Greedy when others are fearful.
