The man in the picture above is the Russian sports minister. So I dont think they were celebrating Sum beating Savinova. Maybe they were celebrating after the two Russian female athletes smooched each other on the podium.

The highlight for me was the bronze that never was. In fact I was not disappointed when Yego lost that bronze medal at the last throw, I was elated that someone can train himself using YouTube videos...it was so inspiring! I know that he'll win a medal, whether in the Beijing championships or the Rio Olympics.

The next was the gold by Sum in the 800M, totally unexpected. It totally made up for David Rudisha's absence.

Frankly speaking I had very low expectations heading into Moscow but our Kenyan athletes have proven me wrong. I hope we find an answer for Mo Farah and Dibaba in future, and ensure we keep people like Kiprotich instead of them going to Uganda.

I remember the commentator saying that Yego's performance was the highight of the day....he is now a contender for titles and not just a participant. Adding 3M to your personal best is massive I tell you.

.....on Sum I just could not believe it, that was out of this world!!!!!
