"The player got on the flight with his agent and on tickets paid for by Fiorentina. He never arrived in Florence."

Apparently the wife is a model so she'd prefer to stay in London which is a fashion capital - hence the bizarre move to ditch Champions league football with Juve for life at Fulham.

But Fiorentina have to feel aggrieved. Apparently there's a long standing feud between them and Juve after Roberto Baggio left Fiorentina for Juve back then.

Anyway, I like the way Berba has acted as far as Man Utd is concerned and I'm happy for him - he did well under Jol and hopefully he won't come to haunt us when we visit Fulham later.

A Statement from Fiorentina:

"ACF Fiorentina announce that the transfer for Dimitar Berbatov definitively collapsed after an agreement with Manchester United had been concluded (with shared exchange of contracts, the first instalment paid and the financial guarantees for the second instalment ratified) and after reaching a verbal agreement with the player over his contract,"

"During today the English club had allowed their player the written permission to come to Florence for a medical and to sign his contract.

"The player got on the flight with his agent and on tickets paid for by Fiorentina. He never arrived in Florence.........

I don't know if I should Laughing out loudly , Shame on you , d'oh! or Pray
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I can see Fulham paying for his flight to London then popping into Tottenham first to sign for them.

Berba9 is currently undergoing medical at Fulham. According to goal.com he will be earning 70k.

Nope! Yet another proof that somebody won the CL through the backdoor.

Others would say: "PULLING BACK ROBERTO DI MATTEO'S MASK"!
