Where I live,hardly any one mentions Corona. We moved on to other problems. Where i live, people are asking if anyone has ever seen a "mgonjwa wa corona". We are even calling our relatives and friends in Nairobi to ask them if they know of any "mgonjwa wa corona". Reason being Nairobi forms bulk of infections. Our friends and family in Nairobi have also reported never to have seen a "mgonjwa wa corona"...hata wale wa Kibera wanasema hawajawahi ona mgonjwa wa corona despite sensationalism about Kibera and kawangware by MOH taskforce. The other day, i overheard some youths who run a printing bureau/cyber cafe in my town say that corona just like Huduma number is a hoax and a major scandal. Today we heard on Tv and radio that there were four cases reported in our locality. We have combed nook and cranny in our village but could not find them. The same happened two days ago when the CAS for health announced that there were two new cases from our hamlet. Elders went homestead to homestead but alas there was none. Kwa hayo yote, mimi navaa barakoa na kufuata maagizo ya wizara ya afya. I choose to be a fool with corona. Dumb money becomes dumb only when it listens to smart money

The problem with us and I have pointed it out so many times is that we are importers of everything. This includes ideas of how symptoms of this infection exhibit themselves in our African population. I beg to respectably disagree with you @mpobiz. Lets take malaria for example. The symptoms and the way the disease progresses is universal world over.  Whether you are in China, Burkina Faso or Oceania, malaria has four stages before people sing " luwere Nyasaye amulinde" in your matanga. (mountain people sing.... "guthie no muhaka tugathie"...but i digress) Same can be said for other infectious diseases as TB etc. The common pedestrian/leighmann is asking...... what does a corona patient look like? They want to see one to believe that corona is real. Dumb money becomes dumb only when it listens to smart money

Yes... 40% of the cases will be asymptomatic, yes...40% of the cases will have mild to moderate symptoms... yes... only 14% may have severe and critical outcomes... yes only 1% will eventually die. that's not the point... the point is how fast do they fall ill and eventually die? How many of our population is 1%? if we are 50,000,000 - that's 500,000... Again... how fast do those 1% die? if they died over a span of 5 years it's fine... if they died in 3 months... it will have an impact. what about the 14% that need hospitalization? how does that auger with our health system? 14% of our population is 7,000,000... how do you hospitalize these people? All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

I didn't insult you - I just called out the way you were generating numbers... which is true... look again... yesterday you said 99% recover So it's 1% dead now.. this morning you have decided its 0.04%... just picking figures right out of your behind... kesho it will be 0.001% because you feel like that's the rate tomorrow. you are just guessing whatever comes to mind. That is why I called you out. I presume you know how to read - check all posts, I have written on this subject and tell me where I wrote 14% will die? I am basing my argument on empirical data and not what I feel is the right number on any particular morning. By the way - this is one of those things I would love to be wrong on... really...
