KQ will be out of the current state but it will take time. I am reliably meant to understand that the London day flight is doing better than the night flight for the slot they sold. More Kenyans are flying the 9.15 am flight and they have had to bump of passengers. The leased planes will be bringing in good money starting this month. Better start making plans to jump in.

Jambo Wazua people. Been a keen follower of the threads here for almost 3 years now and I have learnt so many things. Truly greatful for the posts from @hisah,@vituvingisana,@Obiero and so many other people that have kept information flowing through the years. I have close dealings with what is going on with the KQ pilots and i felt i should chip in to create objective awareness.
The problem KQ has with the staff unfortunately is all Human Resource related. The managers have lost touch with their staff and especially the key staff in operations i.e pilots, engineers and technicians, cabin crew, flight dispatchers, crew planning and scheduling and even some guys in the offices are also just badly demotivated. Mckinsey did an employee satisfaction survey when they stepped in late last year. After they compiled the report and issued it officially to the management there was a minute of silence because they could not believe how bad the employees felt about the company and especially about the senior management.
As it stands right now Kq staff feel like there is no sense of accountability in the company. We all saw the swift change of management in Kenol Kobil after the 2012 performance, the same in Uchumi,Mumias....we have recently seen National bank. How come there is no significant change in KQ? Yet you want to sack 600 people who had no control of the situation.
I am sure the pilots going to be sacked will be a very small percentage of the 600. Those pilots are the only people with a strong union to fight for change in that company because it really needs it. People will be quick to blame the pilots but forget the gross misconduct and corporate governance negligence that has been in that company for the longest.

So in your opinion , what is the solution? Fire the senior management staff and retain the bloated workforce for KQ? If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

KQ currently has a flight of about 39 with a workforce of around 3400. In my streetwise opinion, that's an overstaffed firm! If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

The ruling had to be delayed at one point as info filtered in that discussions will be pushed to June. This was a directive by Mr. Macharia. Reasoning behind it was to release FYR, that would give the CEO an upperhand based on positive runrate of Project Pride KQ ABP 4.26
