all there is is word on paper nothing more! we are good at coming up with policy papers. I have not heard of how these things will be implemented. You can easily talk of commuter rail all over, 5 stadias and 1 million jobs no one is telling us how this will be achieved!
to me what have heard so far ni pang'ang'a tu! which anyone can say!

@Jamplu,

This is not Greek:

"The Manifesto will not only lay out the plan and commitments by the Jubilee Coalition once it forms the government, but will also lay out a financing charter on how the Coalition government plans to finance each of the key pillars and pledges in the Manifesto"

Good launch, though I know most is pure hot air. They don't seem to have read the manifesto themselves, keep refering to their pads.

Free solar powered laptops for class ones starting next year.

Bullshit of the year. Reminds Pamba n the gang promising to insure all livestock in kenya, now this easily passed as bullshit of the century.

Back to laptops for kids who cannot even write their names properly, some walk barefoot n study under trees, some walk bare butts. And a laptop is what they can think about! This alone, confirms the comedy that is UK, and the hot air he spews. Lol! I can still hear it {the bullshit} splashing in my ears!

This was a joke?

Yes 25 to 45usd laptops

Ok. Now that brings another angle. Maybe it's possible. Problem is your militancy, you sound like a guy ready to go to war, no one can hear what you say. Look for more friendly language.

Ok, yes they can be that cheap, even proposals of 10usd are there from India, you can also go for vey high end ones at 200usd.

Second pillar of the coalition – UCHUMI ( Economy)

Growth and Development: Building an enterprise economy
The Coalition Government will:

• Promote the creation of a Single East African Market (SEAM), totally phasing out tariffs and barriers among East African Community member countries and moving towards the creation of a single regional currency.
• Target a 7-10 per cent growth rate in the first two years of the Jubilee
• Government in order to create 1 million new jobs for our youth.
Cut waste and fight corruption so that public resources are spent wisely
• and properly.
Reduce the public deficit so that the Government spends more money on services instead of paying off Kenyas debts.
Keeping the exchange rate stable and control the flow of money into the economy in order to lower interest rates and keep inflation in check.

Increase in public debt

to paraphrase an article in the DN,

'I cannot think of a more fitting epitaph for the Jubilee administration’s reign of hubris and blunder, plunder and squander, than the rest of the term spent savouring copious helpings of humble pie in an IMF straightjacket. Choices do have consequences. Sobering.' Even for jubilee's 'wretched of the earth' apologists.

And i have run out of fingures counting the new 'state -of-art' stadia, in each of the 47 counties. Again where are jubilee's 'wretched of the earth' , 'scums of the earth' apologists to help me count!

I think a D(minus) is more than generous. Enyewe these guys did not even bother to read what they were promising.

But where is the opposition to keep them on their toes ? where is the church ? The civil society ?

Me am joining @alma's new movement of not voting next time.

Whether you are an individual or a country, to generate income you've got to get your hands dirty and do not so exciting stuff. So during campaigns, jubilee had to look for something flashy that could win or hoodwink voters. So they subcontract an advertising executive to draft a winning manifesto. When manifesto is delivered, it's taken as is, no time to understand it during campaigns. After winning election, document iscirculated to CS's to imimplement... if you are CS and you ask a question challenging some aspects you are thrown out of cabinet mtg

Karibu, coz all the other fellows have to offer is sijui okoa sijui what?

We have to be serious. The reason Obama became president is because he got none voters to vote.

So until we meet the right crop, let's go on living our lives coz all this is bullshit.

Jubilee manifesto my foot.
