Yes we are ICC signatories but we should not follow hem blindly. I doubt moreno consulted Kenya when they indicted him. Yes there are crimes committed and he should be brought to book.
But the indictment put at risk a peace process that Kenya who have invested alot of time and resources. Arresting Bashir now is killing he whole peace process and killing south Sudanese hope for peace. Not inviting Bashir would also be wrong because we invited kiir, we are going to be major partners in south sudan, and that would only send a bad message to bashir and others.
That said peace with sudan and peace between the soon to be sudan states is our priority and not pleasing Ocampo.
The Kenyan press love showing their ignorance and regurgitating what the western press keep saying. Arresting Bashir on on the principle of universal jurisdiction is not easy. Look at the Pinochet case in UK and ow long it took to deport him to Chile.
Arresting Bashir is not in the interest of Kenya, or south sudan. We have to find a way to help the people of dafur and not at the expense of south sudan future peace.
