Flights to Kenya for the busy season (Mid July to Oct) are almost fully booked and the prices are much higher than they were last year. So obviously, tourism has picked up big time.
Kenya is one of the most expensive destinations in the world. Unfortunately, the bulk of the cost relates to airfare which does not benefit us and other stupid things like unnecessary jabs against all ailments known to man which to me are like non tarrif trade barriers.
The kind of tourist who visits kenya is not the same as the one who visits say,Las Vegas hence the issue of cost is not comparable. If I were to use an analogy; for an American, holidaying in the US is like buying a used car while holidaying in kenya is like a buying showroom car, both are cars but the target customer is different.
The advert will certainly place Kenya on the minds of some tourists,a few others will even make inquiries about Kenya and thats the point of an advert.
Good work KTB.
I've noticed the youth in particular coming in to a workplace with a completely outsized notion of their own value and importance... just a thinly-veiled arrogance. May be the credit crunch induced recession is whats needed to remind us all about the value of hard work.... By Anonymous
