@Oyster, a few questions. You said you charge a min of 300 for ur services ie checking on the car, test driving, arranging to jevic, delivering to shipping agent. Is this all inclusive, other than perhaps me having to meet the cost of say MOT if the car doesnt have, or tax disc? Can you confirm that shipping will be 800 for a freelander? Can i put some of my stuff in the car/container and transport it to kenya free in addition?

@lisaox, if the car is in the London area, we charge £300 for our services, which includes all the above plus delivery to Tilbury port. If we have to travel out of London, further costs will apply. Please note that, you have to meet the cost of JEVIC inspection, which currently stands at £146.80.
You have to pay for MOT or tax disc if the car doesn’t have one. The car must have a valid MOT with at least 4 months left on it for it to be inspected by JEVIC. To ship the car (Roll On Roll Off), it will cost you roughly £800 for 6 week sailing, however I recommend 3 week direct sailing, currently costing £875 and the next closing date is 15 July 2010, sailing on 18 July and arriving in Mombasa on 12th August 2010. Please note that these dates are subject to change.
You can load the car with whatever belongings you want, at no additional charge.
If you would like to discuss above in detail, please call me on +44 7983 556472 or +44 208 257 5215.

@Oyster, 1. Is there a min amount of time the Tax on the car needs to be valid for inorder for jevic to inspect, just like the MOT? 2. Do you also transport stuff, independent of me shipping a car, as in if i wanted some stuff shipped, do you also do this? How much? How will i get my stuff, will I have to be involved in clearing at Mombasa ama I can pick them frm Nairobi etc?

@lisaox 1. There is no time limit on the Tax. However, we still need it as the car has to on the road, without a valid road tax, the car cannot be on the road. 2.We can send other stuff, though, through a third party. This is an air freight service and the goods will be collected in Nairobi.I normally use this service to send excess luggage for customers. They charge minimal ammount per kilogram plus a standard airport cost, approx £40 per shipment. Let me know what the other stuff are and approximately how much they weigh in KGs.

If you're buying a car without MOT... there's probably is a reason it cannot get an MOT. Meaning that if it cannot pass MOT, there's no telling how much you will spend to prepare the car to be MOT'd. As for shipping stuff.. bila gari, use those warias (Eastleigh) Their costs include clearing..... I've been sending spare parts through them weekly. ..in fact delivered to doorstep.

@Mwatha, Thanks. How do i get in touch with 'those warias'? Any contact? You have my email ad, can you mail me perhaps? @Oyster, ok, I get the thing about the road tax and MOT. You'r right about MOT coz a pal had the same problem wen he bought a car without MOT. Cost too much to fix problems found during process of MoTing. But I wasnt clear about the tax bit. As for the shipping independent of the car, that cost of 40 is too high, esp in addition to a per kg charge. The stuff is in Hendon in London. Let me seek some alternatives. Thx a lot.

@Lisaox..I believe the Somalis JMwatha is refering to are the same ones I use if I am not wrong, they have a shop in Forest Gate and SouthHall. They are called Salama, please call them on 020 8519 4400 (http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1315/58080.php) to clarify details, I think its better that way.Regarding the car, give me a buzz when ready.
Please note that the cost of £40 is per shipments and not per KG.So even if sending 1000 KGS, the £40 will apply, even if only sending 10KGS, the £40 will apply.
