Narok residents are now blaming a low bridge....It's not the first time they have had almost similar "floods".....Which goes to say that what Narok town experienced was not some freak storm.

Njunge said - Show me one town with perfectly working drainage system and i'll show you a four legged chicken

VVS says - There is a higher probability of a 4-legged chicken!!! This is Kenya...

I'm told the road between magadi and nairobi was flooded at about the same time - such that people were not able to return to nairobi for sometime...

@poundfoolish - I agree that Kenyans are 'dirty'... tossing garbage out of the window. Stupid.

BUT the drainage system has NOT kept pace with development. The CCN (among others) have failed to impose standards on developers.

I made a terrible mistake in believing the Weather men when they said El Nino rainfall, eh, floods would hit us this year.

I invested heavly in rainfed rice growing. Now I have to change to irrigation tomatoes with a big hole in my budget. Am I moaning alone?

@aemathenge; Pole sana ndugu. I wonder whether you contacted the met department for a proper prediction for your location.

The weather report given in the press is usually very vague and cannot be relied upon at all. In fact, I have always wondered why they bother with it...it quite a waste of time!!!!

However, if you contact the met dept., you will get very reliable info about what to expect for your exact location.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

There has been some El Nino albeit scattered, Ukambani has had a fair share of it. For this they'll have quite some bumper maize.

This time, I will make a bet on them and see where it lands me.
