...when results gets delayed this much...they tend to be xtreme...super profits or abnormal loss...which is coming?!

Playing the stock market without insider info...is like buying a cow in the moonlight.

True... I am not optimistic. The price has dropped from 14 (Rights) to less than 9.

@ Mainat,

I break into a cold sweat whenever anyone mentions Olympia in those terms... I have this gut feeling which might just be the end of me,kindly give us more info. I keep seeing its capital gains paying off my mortgage one day

75 % of Olympia Capital Holding Shares(30 Million Shares) were sold during the rights Issue at Kshs 14.00 and a greater portion of the remaining 10 Million were bought at between 16-40 shillings range. At times I wonder why some Shareholders can afford to sell at almost half that price....Just assuming the profits realised is negligible what do you expect?...A complete massacre. Run when you still can my brother.

Comrades,

No need to hold your breath on this one. Results are always late. Expect them in early July - released just in time to avoid delisting. You do not rush to report poor results.

24,000 shares sold today by noon at 9 to 9.50 but the entire market is rising. Results have to be announced by end of June but nothing happens if you are late. This is the NSE.

A couple of trades at Noon has pushed the price to 9.50 & cleared off all sellers! And there is buyer waiting for shares... so any sellers might as well take advantage of the current demand.
*** I am following live trades & the bull rebound is clearing off lots of over-hang

VVS,As you observe, when the mkt starts rising people who were not in look for any share that is available and especially those that trade at Kshs 20 or below - in many mkts these would be referred to as penny stocks. That benefits shares like Olympia. The problem arises in that by the time these shares clear - a week later, the bull market may have slowed down. Oftentimes,it will actually have reversed. At that time, you will try to place a sell order and you will not attract even one bid sometimes.

On the subject of OCH I have written on it previously and I have not seen an investment case worth supporting from its days when it was known as Dunlop. Believe you me this is a counter that I have studied for a while. It may have improved a bit (for purposes of the rights issue last year but one). It now seems to have slackened once again. At the very least,I would expect them to report within the 3 months they are allowed to without attracting any penalties from NSE/CMA. If they can't be able to report on time, you can imagine what else they do NOT get right.
