Funny coming from a country that has dominated the region for ages. You are more likely to find a Kyuk selling Mitumba in Kigali than a Tanzanian in Nairobi. In any case Tz and UG mainly export menial labour(Househelps and wives) while Kenyans take the best jobs in those countries. Oh give us a break please. Ati Natives are restless. What a load of bullshit. With over a million Kenyans in the Diaspora, of which 60% plus are Kikuyus? If the Natives of the countries hosting them "become restless" as Gikomba lot, what happens? We need to learn to be more tolerant and accommodating. Lets educate each other. Every country in the world from the US to Kenya has immigration laws and those laws should be respected.

Free market liberal economies don't seem to work for most people. A state is obliged to protect and provide welfare to her citizens. Therefore, the GOK needs to do something for her citizens.

Both govts need to stop stunting and sideshows....There needs to be a compromise btwn the two govts...Tz had feelings about Slyvia Mulinges job, chicken, milk saga etc...All are in the public domain...Inciting violence is wrong however there needs to be a pragmatic and systemic solution to open borders and immigration...I feel both countries need each other therefore both govts need to be fair and honest with each other...My three cents... Threats and violence never solve anything... Ce n’est pas si grave...

Do we have clueless legislators ? I don't understand why parliament cannot pass a bill allowing all foreign traders in but at a higher cost. Manipulate the cost and make it prohibitive and only those with really lucrative businesses will manage to survive.
Same applies at the ports of entry. Slap a stupid law that sidesteps the comesa/eac laws and make the goods more expensive than the local products. That way people buy the foreign goods at a real premium.

Agreed - not yet Pluralism and Diversity are the new ideas - family, faith and country are the old ones. Both of them social constructs... It will take time but it will get to a place where some people fight for flimsy things like use of animal products. I guess the question going forward is how do you skate stairs and chew gum at the same time? All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Gone are the days when parliament was full of people like Mukhisa Kituyi, Kariuki Murugi,VP Wamalwa, Anyona, Karua etc. Today, parliament is full of nincompoops like Jaguar, Babu Owino and that lady from the coast. They spew nothing but nonsense Jaguar should know, there is no Kenya, no Central, no East Africa but AFRICA. I am first an African before i am anything else, and that applies to all Africans

Kenyans are just hypocrites (or is it confused?). During the recent chinese-in-gikomba saga everyone became an immigration law expert quoting parts of kenya's immigration law that doesn't allow foreigners to engage in small business (or take up jobs that kenyans can do) to justify why the chinese should be kicked out. Now with the new TZ, UG saga, the tune has changed and everyone seems to have forgotten what they said 2 weeks ago and all are saying that foreigners are free to come into the country and sell mitumba etc and do any jobs that they wish.
Why should the law apply to some foreigners and not to others? If kenyans want tz, ug, SS, congolese etc citizens then they should ask parliament to amend the law to declare those peoples "not foreigners" but as things stand now those people have breached our laws and should be deported.
NB This selective application of laws is why the country is in the mess that it is in eg the chicken thieves are in jail but the big thieves are out enjoying life, Jowie is in remand while Obado is out there living like a king, some structures on grabbed land are demolished but others like wesdon otel are still standing.

I guess the question going forward is how do you skate stairs and chew gum at the same time? I like debating with you because you are one of the sober guys who actually takes a position on issues. Those multiculturalism experiments are now fading away. People all over the world want cultural cohesion. Germany also changed it's immigration policies it's either you integrate or leave. We debated with you the concept of charter cities like what china was proposing in Athi river. It's the only way to slowly integrate migrants over time to form cultural cohesion. Like how the swahili culture evolved over 500 years. Lakini foreigners should not come in and our govt bends over backwards and pins locals down to create unequal field. That's how populism is fueled. Even Putin says so. Quote:Vladimir Putin has said liberalism is "obsolete" in an interview before he left for the G20 summit. The Russian president said the ideology that has underpinned Western democracies for decades had "outlived its purpose". The Russian premier also praised the rise of populism in Europe and America, saying ideas like multiculturalism were "no longer tenable". He added that liberalism conflicted with "the interests of the overwhelming majority of the population," and took aim at German Chancellor Angela Merkel for allowing large numbers of refugees to settle in Germany. "This liberal idea presupposes that nothing needs to be done. That migrants can kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants have to be protected." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-48795764

I agree - Kenya is ours. This is our country. We should not bend over backwards to make others comfortable at our own expense. However we should also know that those who live in glasshouses should refrain from throwing stones. I saw some stats that diaspora remittances beat Tea imports.... tea... the tea that Kenya is the world’s leading exporter in All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Its very unfortunate that the populace has been so let down by the government that we think Hawking of second had clothing is a job to fight for... Shame on the government. In every economy, there are some jobs that sustain those without legal documentation. A Kenyan, paying taxes, should never contemplate such a position. The government should do better and give him better opportunities- not break him to this point of desperation. I Think Therefore I Am

I also saw a large multitude of people going to apply for waiter/ess jobs. The education system is broken.
