in nature there are certain colors that induce fear... for example orange and black.most animals that have this coloring are lethal or at least unpleasant to try and eat.




the other animals quickly learn to associate orange and black to unpleasantness and those which don't... well don't breed!
so when you see a creature like this

you stay away...
I think the important thing is to change the character/nature of the creature that is orange and black in color rather than paint it over with a shade that makes the creature "ridiculous and undeserving of respect."
In kenya - the venomous nature of our police is what we need to change not their colors. once that change has happened you can give them some other color uniform to make sure people don't associate the new police with the old. Right now... this ugly blue will be the color associated with unpleasantness of being shaken down, being kicked around... being falsely accused. I dare say that any attempt at cosmetics with the police. be it the name (police force to police service) or color will not change the nature of the creature. We need to change the biology of this creature to get lasting solutions.
