If you ask me, these are many companies for the number of listed companies at the NSE. More reason to support the exchange bar theory that less than 20 listed firms make the cut as viable investments See your grouping, I told you KQ is only comparable to Kurwitu If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

That said, they sold a stake in their Cummins business to Cummins and I wonder if that stake was revalued. They need to learn from Centum how to "revalue" businesses Greedy when others are fearful. Thanks for the update. Other corrections and additions are welcome Williamson Tea also reported a decent HY17 Tea production in the RV has JUMPED substantially since the rains started though prices have dipped but they have a March EOY. The 1H 2018-19 (Sep 2018) will probably look good. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

obiero wrote:Angelica _ann wrote:Which one is the biggest giant of the loss making companies, is it kurwitu? Yes. In relation to the size of its business, it could proportionally be the biggest loss making entity at the NSE. It's either Kurwitu or HAL.. For more context, MSC or KQ could make a loss of KES 1B and the same would be mentioned as a minor slip into the red, while other firms could close shop! Like KQ has losses totaling to KES 82.6B over the last five years and its still operational, with an operating profit! The only reason KQ wasn't declared bankrupt was coz of GoK's (taxpayer) bailouts and arm-twisting the banks. MSC and Uchumi should be declared DOA. Banks (KQLC) were forced to lend even more to KQ under the terms of the Debt Conversion. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

As mentioned: Flame Tree is profitable (HY 2018) Kapchorua was VERY profitable (FY 2017-18) and will pay a 10/- dividend Also, C&G is profitable (HY 2017-18) and expects FY 2018 > FY 2017 http://www.cargen.com/do...ear%20results%202018.pdfGreedy when others are fearful.
