Damn damn damn, that's really bad accident, poleni watu wa Nyeri it's really difficult coming after the loss of the former.
I hope this starts the conversation about the reckless
driving by our leaders
and the neglect of public health where most accident victims end-up class or political affiliation not withstanding.
Has any info on the driver and the bodyguard come up I hope they make it through.

Seems it was raining and the driver skidded and hit guard rail. Tyre burst and lose of control? Road is wide enough. Or was driver overlapping, overtaking on the road shoulder? Driver and bodyguard may survive.

My most memorable memory of him is of the day his first son was born-could be the guy in form four now.He came to lecture us but was too excited to teach. He ended up giving us this & that story till end of session.Back then I could not understand his excitement..until the day I got one of my own..

Was the guard rail well designed? How did it penetrate the car?

Truly sad. Nyeri folks had very high hopes in him. But clearly that was not God's plan.

In comes Governor Mutahi Kahiga a former primary school headmaster at Kiganjo primary school. Later became the KNUT Nyeri branch boss.

Most people may not know this but the governor and his deputy came from the same area. Their homes within 2Km of each other. Somehow, the voters in Nyeri ignored that and voted for the duo.

May he R.I.P

That's a badly done guard rail up there. If a car gets off the road and runs over it, it would be directed skyward. An ideal guard should be the one with the end bent away from the road.

As much disdain as I have for Kenyan politicians, this was one of a very few that I really had high hopes in. I once met him briefly and he really impressed me with his brilliance. Sounded like he had a good head on his shoulders but such is life, it can be so fleeting. May he RIP.

Wooi Gakuru our Governor.
Why Lord why?

I asked my mum.. who is the people's favourite? Who deserves our votes? Nyeri politics revolve around coffee, we wanted someone with farmers interests at heart.
She was full of praises for Gakuru.I heard so many positive things.Evryone I know voted for Gakuru.
Now this..

"The car got a tyre burst during heavy downpour and the PA, Governor and escort sustained serious injuries," police said.

Police said the vehicle lost control and rammed into the rails near Kabati on the Thika-Murang'a highway.

"The vehicle hit a roadside grill from its end, which entered through the Benz at its basement,"Police said.

According to police, the Gakuru's PA Albert Gakuru was chopped off his palm at the wrist, Corporal Ahmed Kaib got a fracture on both legs and the driver escaped unhurt.

We don't need some of these gory details surely.
