Sonko on his fb page has asked for ideas to manage the traffic and getting orderly public transport. His team also reads through wazua so don't just wait to see how it pans out. Share your ideas.

Ah. Yes. Ideas ziko kwa wingi. But not all of them can be implemented, or, one at a time. The ones he has already got, like that Public Notice is a start, he should do it, then we see. Ama namna ghani?

I think the banning of PSV termini in the CBD is a step in the right direction. Next he should introduce high capacity shuttles that ply a circular route within the CBD i.e. from railways through moi avenue, kenyatta ave, koinange street to university way to ngara...you get my gist. These can cater to those wishing to go from one terminus say ngara to for example railways as well as those who wish to drop off along this circular route.

For those saying ban private cars , clearly you have not walked down the streets of Nairobi and seen the mayhem caused by parked matatus, go check moi avenue right now and see and tell me how banning private cars will resolve that situation.

It all boils down to proper planning .

Start by converting Tom Mboya street and Moi Avenue into one way streets.
Instead of a total ban for private cars, just raise parking fees by 200%.
Re-train the so called traffic marshals.

My 2 cents

What new ideas will be required? A new idea about how to implement the new ideas?

It may have started panning out, as expected. Keep both the middo crass and the plebs in expectations while the status quo remains.

Only one thing to do: wait and see how it pans out.
