Too little too late. CS Amb. Amina gave a strategy document on Kenya's foreign policy. What did the CS environment give us?

Since its pretty obvious where we are heading, we should start preparing for the next 5 years.

Are we in for an economic storm or sunshine?
That depends on a number of external factors like the Feds. Generally kenya's economic history(1925-1939 & 1972-2002) shows where the govt has gone on deficit driven infrastructure spend then a economic storm correction lasting a decade or so follows which hits the private sector the most.

Will Jubilee eat without control or will corruption be fought?
Corruption will be fought for legacy purposes but the eating will be massive for succession battles.

Will we choke under foreign debt or will they miraculously find a solution?
The winding down of QE policies and normalisation of interest rates means that the sovereign debt bubble will at some point bite a lot of countries. Biggest forex earner is diaspora remittances and FDIs. The solution to domestic debt is to inflate out of debt. The solution for the foreign debt is to sell the country like Dubai(more FDIs)

Will UK spend the next 5 travelling the world while WSR eats everything under the sun?

Anything other views?
Jubilee was voted in by a mostly rural base on promises to spend on the rural areas e.g for instance Nyamira was promised SGR. You will notice Nairobi Mombasa recorded comparatively low turnouts. We are about to see the Moi era District focus for rural development kind of thing. The net effect of that policy is leapfrog patches of towns and settlements which wont push much economic development.

Which is still ok. SGR will get to Kisumu.

Omamo is going nowhere

They can do with us as they wish.

There is a school of thought though, that Uhuru might wish to secure a legacy for himself – hence steer the Country in the right direction.

Additionally, since he wont be running again, he is free to rein in on the corrupt without fear of losing their support.

Fairy tales. He didn't run the country for 5 years, what makes you think he will run it now?

We are in trouble, I feel.

Some other school of thought from NASA is that Ohuru would become a dictator, seeing the majorities he has in both houses. Good or bad?

Did the coal power project in Lamu get a green light?

I think the biggest winner by far apart from UK is Alfie. Now Alfie is his own boss, has his independent mandate and never answerable to kalooser and ati "Wiper disciplinary committee". It is a very clever strategy because now he can choose to collaborate with UK and impact Machakos without the fear of tribal retribution. Macha is one county to watch.
I can bet many politicians will go Alfie's route come 2022, I was surprised when Lusaka went Jubilee and he had this golden ticket as well.

BBI will solve it

The two counties to watch are Bungoma and Nyamira. I hypothesize that they will play more and more important roles in the country.
You will know that you have arrived when money and time are not mutually exclusive "events" in you life!
