we don't have the skills to put up and run such complex processing plants, and since nobody wants to start from ground zero we are better buying the processed stuff.

I think all will be well as long as we can process the oil at equal or lower than imported refined oil. Atleast we get to save on forex. which is a measly Sh 4B per annum for the starting 2,000BPD assuming world class efficiency in the production process "The purpose of bureaucracy is to compensate for incompetence and lack of discipline." We don't need much oil as a country, I think its better if we export the oil in its crude form, wacha that waste (which I assume exists after the refining process) ikae huko majuu. And we can enjoy our geothermal

So as long our break even point is equivalent or below the world market prices, we are in business. We can also still be in business if we tax imports but don't tax local production to match our local production costs to world prices, were they to be higher. Instead of looking for trucks that you can hire so that you can transport that oil b4 a heating pipeline is built, ni gumzo tu! 4000 barrels is just enough fuel to run the proboxes in EA. I know a few kiuk friends who have gone bought the normal tankers used to ferry refined fuel in anticipation to transport the crude...how sad! You need special tankers to ferry crude, and its not cheap. Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.
