Stanchart.
In terms of functionality, both are equally good.
Stanchart is more bureaucratic especially when you are in kiashland. For some transactions you have to go to a branch e.g change phone number registered on the account. When doing some transactions they send an OTP to that number. If not in control of the number, the transaction cannot proceed as you won't get the OTP.
Have seen buddies complain a lot about Stanchart when they move abroad. Most have gone to NIC.
Am on stanchart myself in Kenya. Very efficient so far
NIC is pathetic when it comes to their systems...very useless...systems are down a lot..try sending cash via mpesa then you will know...the app also has kibao issues...
Yeah, NIC is extremely weak in systems and processes. Both manual and computerised. I don't trust them at all. So buggy. Craft silicon is their developer I think. Hope CBA helps them improve.
Stanchart on the other hand is unmatched in this region. Their OTPs may be annoying but they really boost the security, the internet is a very dangerous place, your passwords cant protect nothing. A regular stanchart customer is treated as premium customer from other banks like equity. At least that was my experience.
