There's Mwewe Camp just past Gilgil but before getting to St Mary's hospital. They have great open spaces for BBQs and camping and also have rooms. I've been there once and it's good. The view of Lake Elementaita is awesome. The proprietor is a friendly chap.

ensure you do a boat ride on the lake and ensure you ride up to the shore of Crescent island to view wild animals

u can also try Fisheagle which is next door to Fisherman's camp, the cooks there do a great job. They also have grounds where you can cook and camp. Very good rooms and cottages are also available.
