What is the work of WHO,UNICEF,WFP etc

You didn't read the full article..Ok,what do you suggest as an alternative to UN?

Let the existing UN bodies combat malnutrition(Esp UNICEF).Why did they have to create Global fund and UNAIDS when the same work could have been done by WHO?

My point is that UN bodies are expensive in terms of administration costs, the money they spend should be channeled through government. It is a fact that governments deliver better ,quality and demographically spread services with their limited budget and massive corruption unlike the UN bodies and civil societies.I read a certain report of how much the donors have poured in education and health sector in Kenya through UN and civil societies and I can tell you that its a looooot of money yet these organizations do not pay salaries for workers, build infrastructure for health and education sector etc. Most of the money is spent on workshops, perdiems, office running costs, allowances for senior staff and salaries.
Can you imagine what the government will do with an additional KES 10Billion in the health sector?

I think I can...
1. Private clinics will pop up next to public hospitals to cater for lab tests, special medication and tests that cannot be performed in public hospitals.

Why can't they? How is it that a private individual or organization is able to offer specialized tests & medication while the gov't cannot? Kwani wana pesa nyingi kuliko serikali, honestly?Sad Sad

Ah, the UN... we've all seen the cars around Nairobi. Have you ever wondered why one needs a 4x4 SUV to feed starving children or improve sanitation?

If the govt employees steal and build clinics next to government hospitals that will still greatly improve the health sector.I think we are better off with govt corruption than with the greedy in UN and civil societies
If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Guys, there is a big difference between food and nutrition. You can eat food of low nutritional value. These guys wrote a report saying over 50% of Kenyan children suffer from stunted growth leading to having less intelligent and not fully physically developed people.
