I don't mind increase in fees. But:

1. Undergraduate fees went up from 16K towards 45K
2. Undergraduate HELB max reduced from 45K to 30K (is this not mandatory?)
3. Postgraduate HELB increased 130K (is this not discretionary?)

And the students gave a notice.
They should be let to hold the peaceful demonstration

I concur. How do they propose to increase fees then lower HELB?

Will this country ever get to a point where decisions are made through dialogue and logic? Have these increases even been gazetted or approved whichever it is they are supposed to be? Could there be a middle ground? By the way kwani the maximum HELB was reduced? I thought there were guys who used to get 60k.

The parties to be blamed is the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service for admitting more students and mostly management of HELB.
Why cant HELB invest the money collected from beneficiaries instead of relying on the government 100%?

Add to that list of shame the many university students who benefited but have refused to pay back despite having decent earnings. All beneficiaries should be proud to have a completion certificate, not proud to say how HELB haijawahi mshika.

Any link on that? If true it can be very unfortunate. There are students who fully depend on HELB for their upkeep at campus and this will hit them very hard.

any credible source of info other than the student leaders saying and newspapers reporting.

Pastor.. why do i have a feeling your 'Kenya' starts somewhere in Ngarariga mahutiini, covers several makutanos, curves near a river or two and ends on Kirinyaga road

Its with a lighter touch..
