If the message here is that public space intended to be shared by people of different religious persuasion should be left free of all religious symbolism, then I am with the people of Kisumu. If their vexation stems from the symbol representing a deity different from the one they worship, then I say they are simply bigoted.

Hee,ata mimi tarusia hako kamungu mawe.

Why can't they keep religious affiliations/beliefs off public property? Peace is more important than idols.

Quote:
And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

So let each keep their 'gods' in their private rooms and plant maize if they lack a hero.
