This man is on fire. He should be in a bench with Makau Mutua. That would be the hottest bench and fire engines woulda literally be on standby. For the record he has said he was not a spokesman for Joseph Kony but a chief negotiator on behalf of the UN, EU,AU and Gov of Uganda Gathige Quote:DAVID Nyekorach Matsanga is a man who changes with the tide. The 54-year-old born in Bududa, then part of Mbale district, fled Uganda in 1986 after President Yoweri Museveni came to power.
For the last 12 years he has been an on-and-off spokesman of LRA leader Joseph Kony. During this time he was a diehard LRA apologist and a rabid critic of the NRM Government. Quote:Colleagues who have been with Matsanga know him as a man who is quick at sniffing opportunities. http://www.newvision.co.ug/D/9/42/691309
You can't hide from history. There is more if you ever take time to google. But you use Goggles.
Q: Who is David Nyekorach-Matsanga? A: I am a Ugandan who fled the country in 1985 when Milton Obote was overthrown. It was a Saturday morning at 10:00am and since then I have not lived in Uganda. I was born in Mbale District in 1957. I have eight grown-up children and some grandchildren. My principles are truth and nothing but the truth and that is why I resigned from the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) peace talks negotiation team. I could not take Kony’s lies anymore. Q: How did you get linked to LRA leader Joseph Kony? A: In 1997, I was on my way to a Commonwealth meeting, which was taking place in the United Kingdom, when Dr. James Obita asked me to do public relations for the LRA. I accepted and that is how I started working for the LRA.Q: Have you ever met Kony? A: Yes, I have met Kony physically over 16 times. http://africanpress.me/2...resigned-for-the-truth/
He will also run away from his new found friends It's called modus operandi. He talks too much thus may not be able to stick to his allocated time. Unless yeye apewe double the time others r getting. I am thinking, if he has so much info, can he probably apply to appear on these cases as a friend of the court to say what he knows? Or he could share what he knows with the defence lawyers(if he hasnt that is). Otherwise, all the info he has about witness 'procurement' as he calls it could end up being naught if it ends at our TV screens, however fiery it may be presented. Let me hope somehow he knows of a way of mking the judges know what he knows if he is serious.

As for opportunities, he seems to be everywhere, was at AU Jana, in and out of ICC and seems to be doing well for himself. This ICC is just too cloudy and lets leave it to the judges to clear the mess. As much as there are victims, there seems to be some chaps also out to make some cash. Gathige let me help you some more about your new found HERO Quote:A London-based former PR consultant to the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and bankroller, the Ugandan insurgents notorious for abducting, raping, murdering and conscripting schoolchildren. Matsanga left the group in 1999, and in a statement released on the Internet, blamed an LRA official, Lt Col Nyeko-Yardin, for “dissolving” the political wing of the LRA. “Coup-plotters”, Matsanga said, had brought “political darkness” to the LRA. Today, he’s returned to LRA as a member of the negotiating team in Juba, Southern Sudan. http://kwotkaka.wordpres...vid-nyekorach-matsanga/
Want more? Quote:The leader of the Lord's Resistance Army peace talks negotiating team, David Nyekorach Matsanga, has refuted reports that he has been sacked from his job.
The Juba-based Sudan Tribune newspaper reports today that the entire LRA negotiating team has been disbanded by rebel leader. Matsanga said the reports are concoctions fuelled by his enemies who are opposed to the peace process. He said spoke to the LRA leader, Joseph Kony, who denied all knowledge of the sacking. http://ugandaradionetwork.com/a/story.php?s=20021
Even more Quote:David Nyekorach Matsanga, who led the LRA peace delegation at recent talks in Sudan before being sacked by Joseph Kony in April, claimed this week that he has been reappointed by the leader to head a six-member team to negotiate a settlement to the fighting, according to the Daily Monitor paper.
However, James Obita, another member of the group, claimed he had been given the job of representing the reclusive leader. Obita was in Kampala this week to try to persuade the government not to launch any military attacks on the rebels. Matsanga maintains that Kony told him to warn Obita "and his group of money hungry diggers t o desist from using his name in Uganda". http://www.theguardian.c.../jun/20/news.background
So is it now Jubilee policy to have someone which such a history to talk for the President on National TV? On a very serious note. Someone who represented someone who used to rape, kill and maim children. Someone who Museveni has dumped and even Mr. child molester himself Joseph Kony. But somehow he's a hero in Kenya. Is this what it means to save the president? In the real world, Jubilee would get that guy off TV yesterday. But we are now in never ever land aren't we? Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.
ION http://www.telegraph.co....al-to-be-suspended.html
Quote:Kenyan president Kenyatta’s war crimes trial to be suspended The war crimes trial of Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta could be suspended for at least a year under a diplomatic deal to be put to the United Nations. Western diplomats are preparing a UN Security Council resolution that would put the International Criminal Court (ICC) case on hold after the African Union lodged objections to the trial. Sources said the resolution was to avoid a damaging stand-off between the court and African states over charges faced by Mr Kenyatta of orchestrating post-election violence that killed more than 1,000 people in 2007-08. Mr Kenyatta has said he is reluctant to attend the opening of his trial in The Hague on Nov 12 after judges agreed to alternate his appearances with the hearing for William Rutto, the vice-president, who is also charged. However, an extraordinary summit of the African Union on Saturday issued an ultimatum to the court to stop the case, warning judges that Mr Kenyatta must not be compelled to face trial. let me grab my popcorns.
ION http://www.telegraph.co....al-to-be-suspended.html
Kenyans on twitter (and now wazua) are rushing to quote this article as kind of breaking news without having read it first. If you take the time to look at it keenly, the article contains no actual names, just the words 'Western diplomats', 'European officials' and 'sources'. Knowing British journalists, I'd treat this story as a rumour for the time being. I'm shocked to see that the Daily Nation actually quoted this article on their twitter feed.
