Seriously, if a "Westgate" happened at work, the guy in charge of security would be tarmacking now...private sector is merciless.

But I suppose given that GOK appointments are based on tribe not merit...we should not expect much change, or improvement.

Maybe he had also shared it with the PORK now that they are close friends, and he is wondering whether to fire himself first. smile

It would be nice if we were informed on why these officers are being reshuffled.

I personally would prefer that police officers stick in one place for all their working lives unless they apply for transfers, thats what is done in most of the world, what is so special about Kenya that warrants the constant relocation of the police and other government employees. Indeed
If someone does not want a transfer he should be allowed to work in one location so he can also raise a stable family.

The results of these transfer is that many govt employees settle their families in one place and then move all over the country, as long as they work where their families are not located, they never really commit themselves wholly to deliver. Applause Applause SomeonetellKimaiyo

Fact is even a crooked cop will not allow a drug dealer to peddle his drugs in a neighbourhood where he is raising his family, neither will he let thugs go free or even tolerate dangourous driving.

Ours is a country that puts business before security and expects to security when security and safety are not a priority. paradox?

Being a child of a former civil servant, couldn't agree more. It got so bad I personally pestered my folks to take me to boarding school. Nilipiga makelele mpaka wakakubali.

One other thing, when you work amongst your people, where everyone knows you and your roots, no one would dare misbehave. After all, why would you want to mistreat those to whom you belong? Na watu wenyu wakikukataa, nani mwingine atakukubali?
