The Tee guys were released on cash bail 20k each.
Most likely they'll jump bail and get back to bizna. That's the law for you.There is also another group that operates near Jeevanjee. The alarm does not matter to them as its a cartel involving guards,taxi drivers and in some cases watumishi.

and by the way,the cheap alarms some of us have can be disabled in under 20sec,by a confident expat. believe you me. Kwa hivyo kama umeweka override switch ya alarm karibu na seat belt ya dere,ama chini ya kiti ya dere,fiki tena !All the harness must be sealed kwamba itachukua muda......la sivyo Just dont' keep valuables in your car.

I always make it a point to park at a secure location eg. Lifestyle or nhif and spend 100 bob than risk parking on the streets and lose everything

@kasheshi,

parking in lifestyles?? how many have lost valuables stached in their cars within those parking lots. there was a thread on insecurity at the lifestyle basement parking sometimes in march this year.

my take is those brave journalists; john et al have assumed a vacuum created by the state security agents. consider this,nsis and cid are 'above',pursuing hardicore criminals and other weighty crimes of national interest. this looks lesser on their menu.

foot soldiers,mainly regular and other police on patrols looks hungry,emanciated and needy stuff,whose interest in pursuing thieves is to share in loots. thieves,on the other hand,knows very well that the least that could happen is a share out of the loots with the cops,if they escape the wrath of mob justices. however,the latter is just but secluded and unfortunate situations that can deter the zeal.

the cops seen nubbing the thugs are actually the bodyguards the state has seconded to the duo journalist after a threat on their lives from the first exposee.

next stop,well,they seems to be in great love with motorist that they have put their lives at risk for the sake.

What I found amusing and could not quite understand was the cop shooting in the air. Excitement from the 'live' coverage perhaps? Or maybe the actualisation of a childhood rambo fantasy. There was no reason at all!

Another thing in addition to @Spendthrift's nice piece is to befriend (or at least acknowledge) the watchies (not the boyz) anywhere you park; whether it is a private car park or the streets. It is no guarantee that your car will be safe but he will be a little more motivated and this may just be the drive required for him to protect your car.

was it necessary for the cop to shoot? I wonder where those bullets go to.....

Did I hear that the robber denied? and was released on bail?

Pat my ignorance.. Some big boys are involved here! period..

@Mali

The big guys do not have to be involved..... ask TRS.
They just got themselves a good criminal lawyer who evaded the jail.... They say the law is a 'funda.........mentali'!

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.
