In police and all organized groups within government or private sector the boss is whoever has power to hire and fire. Every officer basically knows what they need to do. Keep it simple

Hi guys... My comment above remains. The POLICE SERVICE remains a DISCIPLINED FORCE, that largely operates n survives on DISCIPLINE. Kavuludi n his power greed will fail. I can't really blame MR TOOTHLESS CHAIRMAN, not his fault at all. If a dog is to be effective n respected, it must be able to BITE. Being seen biting is an added advantage. Being publicly humiliated by cats {mariakani debacle} is a total embarassment n fodder for the rest of the cats! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

You forget that the IG and Deputy IG are members of the commission and their input is taken into consideration before any decision, why does the IG need to have all the powers to himself????? ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

You are wrong! The commission makes decisions even in the absence of the 3 IGs. btw, what VALUE does the commission add? So far, all what majority kenyans are seeing is a detereorating force. So, what are its successes so far ? What I'm seeing is a complete headless rogue force taking us down with it in the form of undiscipline n spiraling wave of insecurity. For a softspoken IG, he needs RAW POWER to deal with these lazy cops. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

They have been coopted into the team.....why should they be absent at the time when important decisions are being made!!! ......The security situation in Kenya if you can recall well started going down the drain during Iteere's time, we can't now start blaming the Police Service Commission for the current situation!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

Problem after problem after problem..These two can work together if they want to they just dont...why i dont know...its like there is a "chinese wall" of sorts between...whats so hard bt sitting in a meeting together agreeing on who to hire and who to fire...the indiscipline and lack of work ethic must be coz the junior officers have realised that the right doesnt know what the left is doing,so why should you even be serious with your work... possunt quia posse videntur

Agreed, they should find a way of working together, just like the JSC and the Judiciary have been doing case in point "A lady magistrate was denied unpaid study leave by a past CJ. She went away anyway and one year after she and came back with glowing new credentials. She found that the CJ had 'fired' her for absconding and would not let her work. She told him off saying she was not the CJ's maid to be fired without due process. Her application to the JSC for reinstatement was granted. She is now a respected judge. The relationship between the Judiciary and the JSC is cordial and effective. Kimaiyo and Kavuludi should emulate it. That was the way it was meant to work and must work" ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".
