There are only two certainties in life: death and taxes.
Any plan to boycott paying taxes is self-defeatist and impractical.
Here are some things to consider:
1] 70% of all taxes are paid by the corporate "Large Tax Payers" - they even have a special office at KRA for processing their paperwork.
It is near impossible to convince the likes of SCOM, EABL BAT etc to suspend tax payments.
2] About 25% of tax is collected indirectly - VAT etc. You cannot refuse to pay VAT when buying your products. The seller will simply refuse to sell to you because if he/she doesn't collect the tax, he/she will get in trouble with KRA.
3]Majority of individual tax payers get the tax deducted "at source" through PAYE and other schemes [eg withholding tax]. The collecting agent (eg, your employer) is under obligation to remit the tax "by 9th day of the following month"! Otherwise, he is in trouble.
And even if people were able to overcome the above hurdles, the tax will still be collected after the boycott. All you can escape from is the penalties for delaying payment, but the tax itself must eventually be remitted.
So, my advise is: forget it!
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
