Can not understand why people choose to delude themselves.

Expecting Western to vote for Uhuru is to expose certain inhibitions that serve to cloud rational thought patterns and appreciation of the situation as it is.

This preoccupation with why Uhuru must ascend to power can only lead to a life of denial and burying of heads in the Sand.

Take some courage and accept the truism that Uhuru bungled things horribly and, the subsequent inevitability is that Raila will be winning the March 4 election IN ROUND ONE.

Abandon the hopeless flights to Utopia and hopefully avoid heart attacks when Raila is eventually declared winner on March 5!

Now the folly of run-off win and why it’s not feasible with ICC nose hanging over Uhuru’s neck!

The Constitution requires that the run-off be held within 30 days if no clear winner results from the first election.

Then the Person declared as elected would need to be sworn in on the first Tuesday after lapse of 14days since the declaration.

This takes us to April 16th, 23rd, or 30th, well past the dates the suspects have an appointment with the Hague Court.

Assuming they win (a flight of fantasy) how, where, when and by whom will they be sworn in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and after the 1st round, somebody can run to court and delay the runoff elections thereby making the date to be deep into April when suspects are in Hague. by that time, the witnesses would have started talking telling it all as it was. Jubilee as in trouble unless they manage 50%+1 in round 1.

Even the round one win could also be problematic!

The CJ might raise issues about swearing in a Suspect of Crimes against Humanity - one who will be flying to Holland to spend many Months there attending Courts sessions.

In the event the suspects fail to honour the ICC appointment, Kenyan Judiciary is likely to rule that Kenya is duty bound to honour the Rome Statute that we signed.

Kimaiyo's boys would be required to swing into action, - a tall order for them as the CIC is guarded by KDF officers.

A Constitutional crisis would kick in!

Do we need all these mess!

Thats why IEBC could refuse to take Uhurutos nomination papers - Otherwise it is self defeating, besides, there is no good reason why a whole country should be subjected to taking a flight of faith.

Dead on arrival case!

That would precipitate a pre-erection violence.

That we really don't need.

Where we have reached, i dont think we can stop UHURUTO from contesting, that would be recipe for disaster. they have a mass following and a legion at that. bound to be chaos galore.

I like the views here. @ngalaka(the real one) is back. 2 things though: no first round win. Forget it. Secondly, the CJ has to swear in whoever is declared winner. There is no option for rejection. But removing the President by the 2 houses of parliament is possible. Infact, the National Assembly(which people think is inferior) can remove the President by simple majority on grounds of mental or physical incapacity after a report by a team constituted by the CJ proves the CinC to be mentally n physically incapable of carrying out duties.
