Ngilu has always been given undue advance billing.
She hasn’t much to offer.

In the last general election due to the political wave in her backyard, while campaigning for her Parliamentary seat, she would tell the Constituents to vote for Kalonzo for President. This was the only way she would have a chance.

Though she was eventually pronounced the winner, she achieved this largely through her bulldozing and shoving ways.
The subsequent legal challenge to her elction was dismissed on the basis of technicality - lack of service - but not without the Judge (Lenaola) noting that there were some very interesting arguments that he would have liked to hear but the law didnt give him much option than throw the baby away with the bath water!

Granted a number of people supported her due to the goodies she brought home albeit via corrupt and nepotistic channels. Remember she was the Minister for Health – Many village clinics sprung up and got equipped fairly well, guess at the expense of some other part(s) of Kenya.
Kenyatta National Hospital found itself employing many of her constituents as well as relatives from her Maiden home in Mbooni.
As is norm in Kenya, her Constituents sung her praises, not too bothered at whose expense they were getting all the goodies.

Ngilu has always wanted to sell herself as the person to watch in Ukambani politics!
It has always remained a wishful thought though.

In the last couple of Months, she has switched camps a myriad of times.

First she tried to work out a political pact with Saitoti which ended up on the rocks!

Then went consorting with G7 when there was talk that Kalonzo had being pushed out by Uhuru and Ruto, only for the G7 trio to work out a rapprochement after Kibakis alleged intervetion.

Then she aligned herself with Mudavadi’s wing of ODM.

Then againg She went back to Raila and pronounced him as the best suited person to lead Kenya.

Then from the blues she announced she was running for President.

Soon after, she began hobnobbing with TNA again, culminating in the shuttle diplomacy with Uhuru to charm heads of states around E.A.

She was hence part of the UhuRuto coalition, but true to character, she failed to travel to Nakuru rally and again failed to show up at the official signing at Jivanjee Gardens much to the chagrin of UhuRuto who had included her logo in their coalition documents – prompting editing to remove it at the last minute!

While UhuRuto were waiting for her at Jivanjee, she was actually at Nairobi Serena with Orengo, Dalmas Otieno, Musila, Mutula Ndambuki, trying to eke a concession from their already finalised coalition agreement.

Not getting as much as she had wanted she indicated to them that she wasn’t game, only to gate crash at KICC and choose to talk directly to Raila hoping for the elusive concession - instead she ended up as an addendum to the coalition agreement.

For lack of shame, she is now knocking on TNA/URP/UDF door looking for any crumbs she can get!

It is a sorry situation!

Mama Rainbow is as opportunistic as they come!

She keeps her ear to the ground and eyes wide open to see which way the tide is going and attempts to jump in there headlong.

Dont write her off yet.

I am sure she has seen an opportunity in working outside Kalonzo’s party, especially in Ukambani where she can field candidates to run against it.
Who knows, she might benefit from any ensuing fall outs or mis-nominations.

If she manages even two Parliaments seats – that would be something.

TNA/URP/UDF may want her on board for such snippets – this is Politics – no permanent friends or enemies.

@King G, what you call "fresh" means naive, unknown or untested, and "skeletons in the closet" to me. In which case i prefer Raila. Please do not attempt to sell this ridiculous "PK is issue driven to clever people/Vote with your brain" to me, try others who think they are smarter, elitist or whatever, i understand politics of Kenya kidogo tu and know what villagers(grassroots) think matters, even when i think i know better not to waste my vote when it matters most with an opportunist(chokora msafi) who thinks he is better/smarter than the majority of Kenyan's. His groupies and sycophants think the same. This guy might send us to a runoff(where he will not still win) at an election that should be won in round one and give a second chance to communist at great expense to taxpayers. I am convinced some chokora is a spy on Sally K, payroll, that's where the money is coming from. The new constitution and Kenyans awareness is already doing much more than PK has to offer. What single stand has PK made on a national issue? What risk has he taken before in our murky political waters? Name one! Smart ones, think about that.

When for 20 years a rift-valley villager whose property has been burnt, family killed seeks solace and shares ideas with other "stupid villagers" (in the eyes of some "cleverer" people here living in town), these people will see Uhuruto in a different light that i cannot self righteously claim to know better, i have to listen, after all we almost burnt Kenya. It is their politics together with mine. When farmers quiver as they remember how their coffee prospects were garbage for years due to tribal rivalry and some "chokora" flies around in a helicopter promoting "himself" saying he will build this and that like in his constituency, i have to wonder why they prefer a "duo of criminals". I may think i know better when some fellow promotes his "grand ideas", but i have to take the opinion of these "lowly" people seriously. They are the ones who die, get burnt, suffer bad agricultural prospects, know the real face of poverty. They are the ones who will be fighting if a real war breaks out. Is that stupid to you?

So ...met your own thoracic diaphragm yet? There must be plenty of scatological material on your way which is being a nuisance and all but keep ramming your tenacious noggin against it and you will get there soon enough.

The retire coalition beckons...

Ngilu simply has nothing to offer. I heard her on Telly yesterday claiming how she will menyana with UK and Madvd. She had congregated some villagers in Makueni ostensibly as the Narc NDC who supported her bid to unseat UK. Shida tupu. Guys have now spat her out after the embarrassment she caused them at Jevanjee.

She needs to eat humble pie and support Kalonzo. if not, then five years is a short time, as the current MPs will tell you

@Much Know, With all the "knowing much" you are following the "villagers"?

Is a run-off the worst that can ever happen to our beloved Kenya?
Let's wait when we can't export apparel through Agoa, the Europeans will have stopped buying our flowers n elevated travel bans will have been issued, IMF/World Bank not issuing emergency funding and the US dollar is around 160 Kshs,we can't import machinery, farm inputs, oil etc.

Then n only then, will we know the worst that can happen.

I'm opposed to the two Hague bound guys and that is personal as it gets. It's about my life and my livelihood.

If you support any other candidate other than Uhuruto, then, that's tenable.

But for me and myself, PK-Tuju all the way.
Skeletons? What skeletons?
