Correction, Kenya has only 6% of L. Sango i.e. just 4,100km2. So that statement could be true.

the comparison was with "whole lake by volume",
either way, 4,100 km2 is around 31% of central province.

look at the satellite map and mark out 30% of central province to be occupied by ponds, then tell me if that makes sense.
