>70% of Nbi population ni youth. Na Sonko commands a huge following among them. Like it or not, if they vote Sonko notwithstanding his theatrics would well easily be on his way to be the governor of the richest county in Kenya!d'oh!

Sonko can't win election day poll in NBI,also he aint standing for Governor!!!!

Could it be then that politicians are avoiding Senate positions because they will have no say over devolved funds?

The biggest reason is the expectations of the voter. The Kenyan voter expects to see projects from both the senator and the governor. While the governor will use state funds to show why he should be re-elected, the senator will have to do his projects from his pocket. The voter will always ask what u did for them. They have never and probably will never understand that the role of an MP is not attending harambees and doing dvpt projects but representation!

Over 60% of kenya's GDP is generated in nairobi. It therefore goes without saying that it is the richest county!!

If elections were to be held in Makadara today Sonko would probably win with a landslide. This guy is worshiped in his constituency and i believe its for the right reasons. Did you see what he did yesterday in his constituency, using one of his matatus he ferried sick people to hospital for medical care and paid their hospital bills. One of the beneficiaries, an elderly lady, was full of gratitude and had tears of joy.

"A few weeks back he was called by residents of Kaloleni Estate who had gone without power for two weeks after their transformer short-circuited had attempted to reach some of the their elected and aspiring leaders in vain. One of the residents picked up the phone and flashed the flamboyant MP who called back and promised to address the problem. Sonko showed up one hour later as agreed with the residents, took them to Stima Plaza where their problem was resolved immediately!"

Applause Applause You might be a loose nut at times but keep up the good work Sonko!

The same applies to Waititu, what low class (the voters) see in him is not anything close to what middle class can imagine.
To them he is a father and their protector and provider sort of.
So pigeni tu makelele but come March 5th 2013 I will not be surprised at all.
